While we roll out our Neurofeedback services, explore this page to learn more about how the integration of Neurofeedback and Psychotherapy offers a powerful approach to healing trauma.
Quantitative Electroencephalography (QEEG) Neurofeedback is a modality (type) of Biofeedback. With neurofeedback, practitioners are able to identify where your levels of brain activity are and if they are deviated from normal. Too much or too little activity of certain brain waves can contribute to different mental health symptoms. By utilizing neurofeedback, you can work on regulating your deviated brain frequencies to help reduce symptoms, enhance your performance, or become more mindful and aware of yourself (Collura, 2014, p. xiii).

Typically, a single Neurofeedback session lasts 20-30 minutes. For lasting results, an average of 20-40 sessions will take place over 4-6 months. We suggest 3 sessions per week for 2-3 weeks, then you can reduce to 2 sessions per week for the remaining duration.
Research has shown Neurofeedback to be very effective for most people. There are circumstances that could arise which could limit the positive changes taking place. Some of these limitations include ongoing recreational drug use, inability to make healthy changes, continuing to engage in other harmful/maladaptive coping skills. We encourage the client to continue with psychotherapy while participating in Neurofeedback in order to maintain support for healthy change.
Neurofeedback is appropriate for all ages! It is non-invasive and effective for many conditions that arise in childhood through adulthood.
