We have providers who are in network with some insurance plans. We ask that you verify mental health benefits with your insurance company prior to scheduling. Whether there is a copay for services or a deductible that must be met, it is your responsibility to understand what is covered by your insurance and what will need to be covered by you.
Using health insurance for therapy sessions can provide some benefit in reducing costs of services. However, it's important to know that there is limited confidentiality by using insurance due to protected health information needing to be shared with them. Some insurance policies also dictate the number of sessions or types of therapies that can be provided; limiting the provider's ability to have complete control over clinical decision making.
No, not necessarily. Our graduate interns are not able to bill any kind of insurance policy and solely work off of a sliding fee scale. Provisionally licensed clinicians are able to bill some insurances under their direct supervisor. And fully licensed clinicians have independent contracts with each panel they choose to accept. It's important that you verify insurance benefits before scheduling with a new therapist, or transferring services to a new therapist.
Every insurance plan is different on what they will reimburse. We can offer you an estimate on what you owe; however, once processed it may differ from what the insurance says that you owe. By calling the number on the back of your insurance card, you can request coverage details for outpatient mental health services. Your responsibility lies in paying deductibles, copays, and coinsurance fees; irrespective of what our estimated cost reflects.
Your time and commitment to therapy are important to us, and we dedicate ourselves to being available for you. To ensure the best possible experience for everyone involved, we maintain a 24-hour cancellation policy. If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a $50.00 cancellation fee.
If both parents/guardians are in the home, only one parent/guardian needs to initiate, or consent, to services.
For children whose family has been impacted by separation or divorce, we require a release of information to be signed and on file for both parents/guardians who share custody. We also must have the court filed custody agreement that specifies parental roles in caring for the child, or that shows full custody issued. For instances where there is an ongoing case with the courts, a release of information must be signed and on file for the Guardian ad Litem (GAL) representing the minor. If your unique situation does not line up with these requirements, please reach out to us with questions on what we would have you provide.
Unfortunately, no. We understand the benefits of bringing a beloved pet to therapy; however, we have to maintain a safe environment for everyone. Due to allergies, anxieties, and different ways that this could impact others we cannot allow pets to be brought in. ADA compliant animals with a state registered ID badge are allowed.
We are considered in-network with United Healthcare Medicare Advantage Plan. We are not paneled with Aetna Medicare or Blue Cross Blue Shield Medicare plans. Some licensed clinicians are able to accept the Red, White, and Blue Missouri Medicare Part B.
We do not accept Homestate Health Plans or Healthy Blue. We do have some clinicians who are in-network with UHC Community Plan.
Yes. You are able to utilize EAP for counseling sessions. We require a formal authorization letter from the employer prior to scheduling. We cannot accept an informal text/email from you simply stating the authorization number.
You have a right to safe and supportive counseling services, and we want to ensure that this is your experience with us. It's important to understand that not every therapist will be a good fit for you depending on their style and approach, personality, etc. You can request to transfer to a new therapist at any time; or you may choose to pursue services outside of Osage Valley Counseling. We can assist with this transition, if necessary, and offer referrals. We respect and support whatever decision you make. You can talk with your therapist to resolve the issue or reach out to our owner directly at mirranda@osagevalleycounseling.com.
