Jessica Rinderer, Counseling intern

Supervised by Greg Pfeffer, LPC (#2022007840)

Jessica is a passionate and dedicated therapist currently pursuing her Master of Arts in Counseling at Northwestern University, with a concentration in Child and Adolescent Counseling. She is further enhancing her clinical training through a focused study of trauma-informed practices, reinforcing her commitment to providing compassionate, developmentally attuned care.

Jess approaches therapy as a collaborative and integrative process grounded in authenticity, compassion and meaning. She values self-reflection and self-awareness as powerful tools for healing and growth, and partners with clients on their unique journeys of self-discovery. Her work is deeply centered on the client’s lived experience, honoring their story while gently guiding them toward insight and empowerment.

Jess is particularly passionate about helping clients identify and process trauma using approaches that honor the full spectrum of human experience. Her work is guided by a deep sensitivity to the unique processing styles of neuro-divergent individuals, who may experience and respond to trauma in non-traditional ways. This area of study and research fuels her commitment to inclusive, affirming care that supports clients in finding healing on their own terms.

Prior to beginning her graduate studies, Jessica served as a Youth Community Support Specialist, where she worked closely with young people and their families to address mental health and behavioral challenges in the home. This experience deepened her belief in the power of attuned, relationship-based support and solidified her dedication to fostering safe, meaningful therapeutic connections that nurture growth and resilience.
